Shutting down gather.at
Its been a fun little project but its lost the momentum. I’ll be closing its doors next week.
I think I need a more zen approach to development. Gather.at became much too complicated and feature driven. Should have been way more simplistic and quick to grasp.

I thought it was an interesting idea and was signed up from the beginning. I don’t live in a big city so it didn’t really fit the social scene for me.
Do you think that it has been an issue of application design, marketing or demand?
What have been the main things you have learned with this project?

Sorry to hear this but I think you are not far from putting all the right components in play for that right something. Your drive and “passion (which you noted in an earlier blog)” surely won’t let you sit still.
