Good luck Obama
So its official that Barack Obama is seriously considering a run for President. I really wish him the best but I have my concerns. I think the poor guy is being promoted and pushed too early on and by the same exact people that pushed for Howard Dean. Its too much too soon. I wish Obama good luck but I also think he should try to keep a low profile for now. Instead of the Howard Dean sprint he should try to mimick the John Kerry jog.

I suspect you are right, anyone in the Senate should consider becoming Gov. of their home state before making a serious run for the White House. When is the last time we had a Senator who made a run and won the Presidency? Kennedy. In the modern era the leadership and management of a state is considered generally the best preparation for the office (If that is true or not is another matter but it’s the perception).
He will probably peak too early or end up on someone’s Veep slot.

Don’t hate me, but its a tough decision between him and Hiliary Clinton….I like her too.

I don’t think he’s a bad candidate. I think he is great. I just worry he is peaking too much. Not even Hilliary has announced her candidacy yet.

I am with you. I think it is too soon. But we also said that about our Governor here in Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, who had never been in the arena of politics prior to his governorship. Well, we wish Obama nothing but goodness on his journey!
ps- Heard Hillary on the radio on the way into work. She indicated that she is looking forward to a spirited discourse with all other challengers in the race.

I agree Joey. I think he’s too young and I’m not sure of his positions on the environment and foreign policy. I think he needs to mature more. Hillary… I just don’t like her and I worry that a lot of other people don’t either (even in her own party). So when’s Al Gore announcing??

The Howard Dean comparison is spot on. That’s not to say he doesn’t have a shot, but wake in me in 12 months when things have settled down a bit.
