Getting things done creates success
I’m shocked when I meet someone who says “this is what I’m going to do” and actually does it. It surprises me every time. Of course it shouldn’t but it does. In fact, all of the successful people I’ve met are people who said “this is what I will do” and followed through. Its an amazing thing to watch but its even more amazing to accomplish yourself.
Here are some thoughts on what it takes to get things done.
- First is to decide what you want to do.
- The second is to figure out how to do it.
- The third is to do it.
I used to get confused a lot. I would decide what I want to do and then do it without really knowing how. I don’t think I’m alone in skipping the “howto” part. I’ve made a change now that I’m getting older. First I decide on what I want to do and study about how to do it before taking any steps. The difference is that once you learn what it takes to do something you can figure out what will likely go wrong and how to overcome those obstacles. If you try to skip the learning phase then you take the frustrating route of “learn as I go” and that’s the hardest way to do anything.
The rich get richer because they have figured out how to learn and apply that knowledge. Also because people with success behind them tend to have other successful friends who become their teachers. Indeed, look at the successful people you know. They have an amazing thirst for knowledge don’t they?

Setting out a goal and actually accomplishing it really does feel amazing. Ejovi thanks for the insight,I am one of those that often forget to spend quality time on the how-to. Cheers!
