NYC speech and food

I’m going to talk about living a NYC experience. But first I want to announce that today I will be giving a speech at LaGuardia Community College. It’s a closed event only for CUNY students. If you’re in CUNY I’ll be at:

L Building, Room L 203
31-10 Thomson Avenue
Long Island City, N.Y. 11101 @ 1:45

The name of my talk is “The Internet and I” I’m searching for my iPod microphone so I can record it but I’m having a hard time finding it…

My friend Martin Williams has been visiting from Japan. You notice new things about the city when you show people around. Like I had no idea that hotdogs are seasonal. You never see those guys selling hotdogs on the street during the winter. Do you? Also, it has been years since I bought a hotdog on the street. It was a wonderful experience and taste delicious. If you are going to visit NYC and you want a real NYC experience you need to have the following:

    1. One hotdog with sauerkraut, mustard and ketchup, don’t let them charge you more than $1.50. They do charge more for tourist.
    1. One hot coffee with milk and sugar from a local deli. It will have a lot of sugar and should cost no more than 0.75cents. It’s not as expensive as starbucks but hey…at least its not starbucks.
    1. One bagel with cream cheese no more than $1.75 If you find the guy selling bagels on the street he should have coffee too. Ask him to give you a good deal on both.
  • Now if you’ve been to NYC often or live(d) here and haven’t done these things I’ve described you should. It really reminds me of what it means to be a New Yorker. Especially when the vendors try to rip you off and sell you a $2 hotdog. Fuggat-about-it!
