I’m in Vegas attending Black Hat. The conference starts later today but I have already hit the black jack tables. I’m up 25 dollars so things aren’t too bad. I’ll try charging my American camera phone to take a few shots.

Some time ago a friend introduced me to Witness. I haven’t really had time to look into them until today and I was really moved. I was moved because it is a perfect example of using the internet to give the unheard a voice. The video clips are amazing and truly touching. I think integrating some of the technology being developed at Global Voices into Witness would be really powerful.
Here is a recent alert sent out by Witness on Internally Displaced People in Burma. Be sure to view the video.

Now that I am making a trip to Japan I have developed a craving for Omuraisu. I keep telling my friends about it but no one really understands what I am trying to describe. Well here is a picture and a brief description of Omuraisu. Its pretty cool because it is easy, and fast to cook. When you are living alone that’s golden!
Now, I promised myself I would get a moblog working (mobile phone blog) for my next trip to Japan. I want to be able to email pictures from my cell phone in Japan to this website. Lets see if I can make that happen…
