Who’s using drugs in Bed-Sty?
When I was in NYC I had a chance to visit my old neighborhood and the street I grew up on. It has really changed a lot. The street I grew up on had more empty lots filled with trash then houses when I was young. Now the street has no empty lots and has been completly renovated with tons of new homes. Bed-Sty sure has changed for the better.
Browsing on Craigslist I found a Bed-Sty home for sale about 3 blocks from where I grew up selling for more then $720K. This is insane! While the neighborhood has changed it sure isn’t worth spending $700k to buy a home especially one as ugly as this. The neighborhood maybe cleaned up but you still have junkies running around calling themselves real estate agents and developers selling people crap.

Bro: It’s called gentrification. The ‘Do-or-Die’ will eventually undergo the same changes as Fort Greene. It’s only a matter of time.
Did you check out Stuyvesant Ave?

I haven’t yet. Is it as bad?
We always want the neighborhoods to improve but its a little painful to watch people priced out…

Just as bad. So-called condos going up w/paper thin walls. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about. Peep the article below, I’ll probably dedicate a blog entry to it.

For the better? Gentrification might not be for the better
