I am sure you realize that you are exaggerating. As someone who is out there talking about IP Telephony all day, I must be getting the "non-existent" people who only see the security issues and don't see any benefits to IP Telephony. I would imagine that your point (since you are in the business of selling IP Telephony security) is that more attention needs to be paid to the security aspects. I agree. But, I guess that measured tones don't get much attention or make for good copy.
