I'm with you on this one - the existence of an RFID tag in the bills has yet to be confirmed... Do you have a source for your info about the metallic contents to trigger metal detectors? I would be very interested!

A couple of more links with info about the phenomenon:

http://www.rfidbuzz.com/news/2004/rfid_in_us_postage_stamps_dollar_bills.html
http://www.rfidbuzz.com/news/2004/rfid_tags_in_new_us_notes_explode_when_you_try_to_microwave_them.html

http://thraxil.org/nodes/5027

Update this page (it's a wiki - anyone can contribute!) if you have a source on the metal contents?)

Happy blogging!
