Meeting Thinkers

Yesterday was an interesting day for me. First I met Henry Jenkins a Professor at MIT Media Lab. We talked about his research into technology and culture, especially how it plays a role in democracy. Professor Jenkins has amazing insight into the future of technology; he was talking about how important a role blogs would be way before blogging even had a name. I was able to convince him to help me in a future project I am trying to develop.

Then later that night I attended a reception for new Shorenstein Fellows at the Harvard Kennedy School. I was invited by Rebecca MacKinnon who is the CNN Tokyo Buearu chief. She is doing research on the use of blogging in traditional media. She has created this interesting North Korean Blog zone that is worth checking out.

While at the reception, I had the chance to meet a lot of other fellows, all of whom are just as amazing as Rebecca, well almost as amazing as Rebecca. Hopefully I will have a chance to talk about them later.
