Explaining Hacker Cracker

During the holiday season the paper back version of Hacker Cracker was published. Soon I’ll start interviewing on radio stations around the country trying to explain what the book is about.

My autobiography is just that, an autobiography. It is not a hacking howto or inside look into the hacker underground. It is a book about a kid who grew up in a difficult environment and used computers as a way out. It is a story about creative survival in what has been termed the “digital age.” That is what makes it so relevant to our times.

I’m still in my 20’s this isn’t the story of a retiree looking back over 50 years of accomplishments. This is a story about survival now, in our times, applicable to our lives today.

Some of the things that are detailed in my book are not unique to me. The combinations of all the things I’ve been through are unique to me. But struggling is universal and anyone who is struggling in their life now, or has struggled in life can appreciate this book. It is an inspirational story of survival. Don’t by the book if you want to read stories of hacking. You will be disappointed.

Thank you.
