The other day buff announced that he was changing his handle to pyr0 after seeing the movie X-men, which is the lamest thing a hacker could do. No one knows what Moses (the religious guy) had on that other tablet when he came down from the sacred mountain but I am sure there must have been some reference to “thou shall not change thou handle” or something more suitable to the times.
I can’t really fault pyr0 (formerly buff). He is young and knows not the ways of elitism. I used to be that way once before. Like when the movie “Hackers” came out, I went and changed my handle to ‘ZeroCool’. And for an entire week I was on IRC and other chat rooms screaming “Hack the Planet! Hack the Planet!”
Now looking back on it it’s pretty funny how naïve I was, but during the second week when everyone and their mother were screaming “Hack the Planet!” the reality set in that there could have been some remote possibility that someone who didn’t really know me might think I was merely a lamer among lamers.
But we all make mistakes. The important thing is that we learn from those mistakes.
When the first Matrix movie came out I was careful not to rush and change my nick to Neo who was the star, someone of my standing in the hacker scene has to remember that people are watching. I waited a good ten days before I changed my nick to Morpheus because anyone who has a clue knows that Morpheus was the man that controlled the Matrix. He taught Neo everything he knew, he made Neo. I am the teacher. I am the maker of great beings. That is the subliminal message I sent out to the young hackers. Follow me.
Pyr0 said the nick “pyro” was already taken by someone else, someone lamer and faster then him. I think he is just going through I learning process of finding himself. Every hacker goes through this. So I tried not to make him feel bad. I think I was actually pretty supportive even going as far as changing my nick to Wolverine.
“TheProfessor” was already taken.

Wow, HAHA
Alot of AOL terms in that
‘Lamer’
HAHA, i wouldn’t think you would be someone to say something like that. Lol
Indeed, there is someone with the handle ‘Pyro’ I know him on AOL, he is a programmer. That is kind of crazy that he would change his handle to pry0 just because of a movie char. I have only had Two handles, Slave and nyte, my current one. Although I am only 14, i can program decently. Some people say that VB is not a programming language, but really, ask any average person if they know what a For I Statement is. It makes me feel real good when they can’t answer me. Wow, the word ‘eliteism’. I have never seen/heard that used before, in all my time in the quote unquote “AOL SCENE” I have not seen that used. Just, Owned, Ownage, etc. It was all very stupid now that I think back on it now. Although now, it is quite funny to see the people in The chatrooms i use to hang out in Fighting over a Screen name. HAHA That’s what i despise about AOL.
I think if someone is a hacker/programmer/cracker/something of that sort
it shouldn’t matter what their handle is
Although these people on AOL Fight over handles
it is kind of stupid to even waste time on fighting over one. I think that if you like a handle, you should be able to have whatever handle you like, but like I said, the AOLers don’t make it free like it use to be. If you’ve ever been in the “AOL Scene”, you will know what I have been talking about.
And you should also recognize some of these handles:
unab0mb
vi0watch
snypa
legend
Dime
if anyone is ‘1337′, Elite, Leet, 3r337, Ereet, Whatever you want to call it, on aol
it is those people.
Even though some were really BLAH!! they still deserve credit for all they did on AOL
