Joichi Ito wrote an interesting piece in the South China Morning Post where he mentions using technology to radically change Japan. When I met Joi I got the feeling that he was really progressive and eager to change this system the piece reaffirms that.
But in a country that forces people to play by the rules, and for someone with such a high profile, I wonder how closely he is being watched? Japan often reminds me of America during the 60’s, with very little oversight of monitoring activities and anyone who spoke out was considered a threat to national security.
