Have a Secure Vacation

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

ABCNEWS has a piece on burglars using your “Out-Of-Office” mail replies to break into your house. It seems a little far fetched since I think most people who resort to breaking into homes aren’t all that “intelligent” enough to buy email list, send out spam, wait for automatic responses, and then track down the person’s home address taking into consideration the person may live in another state or country. Is it really worth it?

Anyhow, be safe, are you revealing too much information in your out of office reply? ;-)

A Hacker Documentary?

Meet Alex.

Alex is a new friend of mine, he also happens to be a Film/TV Producer. We met the other night for dinner. It was a casual dinner actually but before we finished up I started picking his brain about my documentary idea on hackers. He thought it was a good idea. So who knows, maybe it will actually happen?

Also, you should meet Upton Bell (below) he is the host of the Upton Bell Show, a radio show in Boston that痴 airs during the weekdays on 1060AM. A business news station that is backed by Bloomberg Financial. I was on his radio show for an hour when I was in Boston doing a book signing last week. I talked about computer security in the business and people loved it! So looks like I will have a regular monthly gig on his show. I’ll let you know all about that at a later date.

It痴 been hard getting things done during the holiday season.

Hitchhiking across Japan [PICS]

During my stays in Japan I have the fortune of experiencing many different aspects of the culture. From business, to food and amazing friendships. For most foreigners their knowledge of Japan go no further then Sushi and Tokyo, but I was sure that there was more to it. After living in Japan for nearly a year, near the end of my stay I decided to hitchhike across Japan.

Transportion Security Documents

The Transportation Security Administration is the government agency that is in charge of protecting travelers in America. I don’t know how safe I feel now. They have placed a few documents on their public web site at http://www.tsa.gov/public/theme_home6.jsp that is supposed to be considered SECRET, meant for Airport management and law enforcement only.

Their method for insuring this information doesn’t fall into the hands of terrorist? Microsoft password protection. I am guessing the documents will be made public within the week.
